New Look, as fair as possible, a public pop-up dress-making studio where anyone can place an order as a possible consumer. This work generates garments made as fair as possible using discarded materials and a Singer treadle sewing machine.
The dress design is the New Look model, the post-World War II signum by Dior.
The price is set according to the socioeconomic situation of the consumer.
I make the dress from start to finish in the amount of time which the individual fair price allows. For example, one customer could pay 300 SEK which generated a maximum of two hours.
The customer places the order without binding to purchase: it is a non-binding offer.
This work facilitates dialogue around preferences, references and desires, craft, value and labor sewn into clothes.
